What are the methods to quickly solve the poor sealing performance of valves?

Ball valves have evolved from plug valves. It has the same 90 degree rotation lifting action, but the difference is that the plug body is a sphere with a circular through-hole or channel passing through its axis. The ratio between the sphere and the channel should be such that when the sphere rotates 90 degrees, it should all appear spherical at the inlet and outlet, thereby cutting off the flow.

Ball valves can be tightly closed with only a 90 degree rotation and a small turning torque. The completely equal valve body cavity provides a small resistance and straight flow path for the medium. It is generally believed that ball valves are suitable for direct opening and closing use, but recent developments have designed ball valves to have throttling and flow control functions. The main characteristic of ball valves is their compact structure, easy operation and maintenance, suitable for general working media such as water, solvents, acids, and natural gas, and also suitable for harsh working conditions such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane, and ethylene. The valve body of a ball valve can be integral or modular.


Ball valve features
1、 The valve body is symmetrical, especially when welded, and can withstand stress from the pipeline well. Has low flow resistance [practically zero].
2、 It operates without jamming when there is no lubricant, so it can be reliably applied to corrosive liquids and low boiling media. The blocking component can withstand the high pressure difference during blocking.
3、 Within a larger range of pressure and temperature, it can achieve 100% sealing.
4、 It can achieve ultra fast opening and closing, with some structures having an opening and closing time of only 0.05-0.1s, in order to effectively maintain the ability to be used in the automation system of the test bench. When quickly opening and closing the valve, there is no impact during operation.
5、 The spherical blocking element can automatically locate in the direction. Compact and lightweight, it can be considered a reasonable valve structure for application in low-temperature liquid systems.
6、 The operating liquid is reliably sealed on both sides. The ball valve with a fully welded valve body can be directly buried underground, preventing the internal components of the valve from being corroded. It has a higher service life of up to 30 years and is a better valve for petroleum and natural gas pipelines.
7、 When fully open and fully closed, the sealing surfaces of the ball and valve seat are isolated from the liquid, so the liquid quickly passing through the valve will not cause erosion of the sealing surface.


The application site of ball valves
The many unique characteristics of ball valves determine their relatively wide application range. Generally, in pipeline systems with dual position adjustment, strict sealing performance, mud, wear, shrinking channels, fast opening and closing action [1/4 turn opening and closing], high pressure cutoff [large pressure difference], low abnormal noise, steam pockets and vaporization conditions, small leakage to large steam, small control torque, and low fluid resistance, it is recommended to use ball valves.
Ball valves are also used in pipeline systems with lightweight construction, low pressure cutoff, and corrosive liquids. Ball valves can also be used in low-temperature [cryogenic] equipment and pipeline systems. In the oxygen steam pipeline system of the metallurgical industry, ball valves that are strictly degreased are required. When the main pipeline in oil and steam pipelines needs to be buried underground, full bore welded ball valves should be used. When regulating performance is required, a specialized ball valve with a V-shaped opening should be used. In petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, power, and urban construction, pipeline systems with operating temperatures above 200 degrees can use metal to metal sealed ball valves.
