Have you installed the seals and gaskets correctly?

Have you installed the seals and gaskets correctly?

1. Inspection and cleaning:
Remove all foreign impurities and debris from the gasket compression surface, various fasteners (bolts, double headed bolts), nuts, and gaskets;

Check for burrs, cracks, and other defects on fasteners, nuts, and washers;

Check the flange surface for any warping or deformation, radial scratches, deep tool impact marks, or other defects that affect the correct seating of the gasket;

If defective original parts are found, they should be replaced in a timely manner. If you have any questions about whether to replace them, you can contact the sealing manufacturer in a timely manner

2. Align the flange:
Align the flange surface with the bolt holes;

For any situation where positive feedback cannot be obtained, a report should be submitted in a timely manner.

3. Install gasket:
Confirm that the gasket meets the specified dimensions and materials;

Check the gasket to ensure there are no defects;

Carefully insert the sealing gasket between the two flanges;

Confirm that the gasket is in the center position between the flanges;

Unless the gasket installation instructions require the use of adhesive or anti adhesive, it cannot be used without authorization; Align the flange surface to ensure that the gasket is not punctured or scratched.

4. Lubrication of stressed surfaces:
Only specified or approved lubricants are allowed to be used for the lubrication force area;

Apply sufficient lubricant on the stress surfaces of all threads, nuts, and washers;

Ensure that the lubricant does not contaminate the surface of the flange or gasket.

5. Install and tighten bolts:
Always use the right tools

Use calibrated torque wrenches or other tightening tools that can control functions;

Consult the technical department of the sealing manufacturer regarding torque requirements and regulations;

When tightening the nut, follow the "cross symmetry principle";

Tighten the nut according to the following 5 steps:
Step 1: Initially tighten all nuts manually, and larger nuts can be tightened with the assistance of a small manual wrench;

Step 2: Tighten each nut to approximately 30% of the required torque;

Step 3: Tighten each nut to approximately 60% of the required torque;

Step 4: Tighten each nut again using the "cross symmetry principle" to achieve 100% of the required full wood torque;

Note: Large diameter flanges can be used more times to perform the above steps

Step 5: Tighten all nuts one by one in a clockwise direction at least once to achieve the required torque.

6. Tighten the bolts again:
Attention: The technical department of the sealing manufacturer should be consulted for guidance and suggestions on re tightening the bolts;

Asbestos free gaskets and gaskets containing rubber components that have been used at high temperatures must not be tightened again (unless otherwise specified);

Fasteners that have received corrosion heat cycles need to be tightened again;

The re tightening operation should be carried out at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.
