Basic troubleshooting methods for intelligent control valves
Intelligent regulating valves should be regularly inspected during use. If any faults are found, they should be immediately stopped, the cause should be identified, and the fault should be eliminated. Common faults and troubleshooting methods are as follows:
1. Valve stem and push rod: The surface is damaged and must be replaced.
4. After checking for cracks, aging, or signs of corrosion on the diaphragm, it is decided whether to replace it.
01 Fault symptom: Leakage in the connection part
Fault cause
1. The connecting bolts are not tightened.
2. Gasket failure.
3. There is dirt on the flange and sealing surface.
Exclusion method
1. Readjust and tighten evenly.
2. Replace the gasket.
3. Remove; Clean and remove dirt.
02 Fault phenomenon: The valve cannot reach the fully closed/open position
Fault cause
1. There is a foreign object stuck inside the valve body.
2. The medium pressure difference is too large.
3. The compression spring is broken.
Exclusion method
1. Remove foreign objects.
2. Increase the number of executing agencies.
3. Replace with a new compression spring
03 Fault phenomenon: There is leakage when the valve is fully closed
Fault cause
1. The sealing surface is scratched or worn.
2. There is dirt on the sealing surface.
3. Valve seat gasket failure.
Exclusion method
1. Grind or replace valve trim.
2. Remove dirt.
3. Replace the valve seat gasket.
04 Fault phenomenon: Leakage between valve stem and packing sealing part
Fault cause
1. The filler is too loose.
2. Insufficient number of packing rings.
3. Filler failure.
Exclusion method
1. Tighten the packing gland nut.
2. Add fillers.
3. Replace the packing.
